Winter Fashion Tips by Unintuition
The winter blues are real- with temperatures dropping it's easy for your motivation and seratonin levels to drop just as quickly!

Staying fashionable in the winter is even more difficuly... especially if you live somewhere that gets to be frigid. Finding a balance between looking good and being warm/comfortable can be hard to do. I'm one of those people who likes to dress up on a daily basis and so I've always had a vendetta towards winter ever since moving to both NYC and Chicago- where winter is a horror story! After a long time of fighting seasonal depression, dry skin, and hours of "Netflix & Chill", I realized that it was essential for me to figure out how to get through the long months of winter and still feel like my OOTD was Instagram worthy.

This is our guide to winter fashion and all of our winter fashion tips that will keep you slayin' all day but stayin' warm too!

1. Knee High + Thigh High Boots

Praise Jesus for knee / thigh highs! This season knee high boots are IN and there are so many fun patterns/colors to choose from. I've been crushing on the crushed velvet trend but you can't go wrong with a classic black boot. The best thing about tall boots is that they keep your legs super toasty! Like for real, sometimes my legs actually get TOO hot wearing both socks and thigh highs. Knee highs are like winter's version of a maxi dress- everyone thinks you dressed up but you actually put in zero effort!

2. Colorful Coats

I love wearing black like nobody's business but I've found that in the winter all of the black/gray/navy coats just seem to blend together into a sea of winter wear uniforms. Your coat is really the only way to stand out or express yourself from November-April. That's why I think it's a great idea to invest in some fun & unique coats! Go for color, patterns, and textures.

3. Ad(Dress) The Issue

Legging season has arrived- meaning you can now rock all of your pretty dresses and still stay warm! Show off your LBD paired with some of your warmest leggings.

4. Taxi?!

If you're planning to go out on a date, to a holiday party, or another formal event then getting an Uber or taking a car is the best solution! When I lived in NYC I took the Subway everywhere (even when I had to be dressed to the nines for a function)- big mistake in the winter! While I think you should always come prepared for cold weather, this way you can focus more on your appearance rather than how you're going to keep your hands from freezing getting from Point A to Point B!

5. Internal Interests

Fashion aside, it's important to keep your insides healthy and in good condition during the winter! Staying hydrated, applying lotion, and taking care of your skin is important in maintaining a healthy outlook. My skin gets SO dry in the winter so I have to take extra care. Winter might be a good time to invest in more expensive lotions, creams, hair products, etc. If you take care of your health then it will be easier to stay in good spirits when temps are dropping!

6. Sock It To Me

Keeping your feet warm is really important because you don't want to freeze your extremities! Thankfully there are tons to cute socks that are super warm! Shop our collection of hosiery to stay glamorous yet prepared for winter.
