I am so so so over social media.
Which makes me a hypocrite- I'm well aware of that. However, we're all hypocrites. It's just about finding a balance and striving to stay true to yourself. I've seen t-shirts with the saying "Do It For The Insta" and countless IG posts with similar captions and while it may seem like a joking phrase to some, it seems like absolute terror to me.
Why should we do anything unless it's for ourselves?
It's amazing to me how we gawk over these "bloggers" & "influencers" as if their lives are so perfect and filled with wealth, traveling, and amazing experiences. Many of these people (as in probably 99.9%) have a hubby or family member who so graciously funds all of their lavish trips and clothing that they then get to prance around in front of virtual followers. How sad is it that these same people then feel the need to take hundreds of photos on the same blow up Flamingo and then airbrush every flaw into oblivion. Can you imagine living a life that's so carefully displayed to ensure that everyone that glances in seeks it for themselves.
Don't do things because you want to post about it. Do things because they make you feel fulfilled and happy. These posts are all meaningless. There's thousands others with the exact same hashtag, pretty girl, designer outfit, and trendy cocktail.
Do it for you or don't do it at all.
I blog about a little big of everything. Life, love, travel, fashion, art, horror movies, quotes, friends, city living, & anything my heart desires.
I'm a 24-year-old wedding photographer based in Chicago with a passion for traveling & fur babies.
